KIRKCALDY SEEKS WORLD HERITAGE SITE STATUS
The Adam Smith Global Foundation is proud to be working with partners towards gaining Kirkcaldy a prestigious World Heritage Site status.
Trustees from the Foundation have already visited the Unesco World Heritage Site at New Lanark in advance of this bid, and hope to gain bring Kirkcaldy the same benefits experienced by New Lanark, who receive over 350,000 visitors a year.
Marilyn Livingstone said: “We believe we need Adam Smith as a catalyst and we need to badge him as New Lanark has badged Robert Owen.”
“We need to work together and raise funding jointly and the outcomes will be an improved physical and social environment. Even if we can’t achieve World Heritage Status, working towards it is the right thing to do.”
