WORK BEGINS ON RESTORATION OF CLOSE
We are delighted to be working with the Kirkcaldy Area Regeneration Scheme to repair the historic stone walls of Adam Smith Close, running from Kirkcaldy High Street to the Esplanade.
This project, funded by Kirkcaldy Conservation Area Regeneration Scheme (CARS) aims to restore the area using traditional methods which will avoid damage to the underlying stone.
Head of the Adam Smith Global Foundation Marilyn Livingstone said: “The idea for the work on Adam Smith Close is to restore the walls to their former glory. The vision we have is to create a timeline on the ground of the close, so you can see the main milestones in Adam Smith’s life.” Further updates will follow on the progress of this work.
