About the event

The walk begins at the Adam Smith Heritage Centre at 1 Adam Smith Close and the first stop is the waterfront where the scene is set of turbulent times in the world, but a relatively settled life in Kirkcaldy’s during the 18th century. Smith would observe international trade through the harbour, bustling local trading in the High Street, and industry and agriculture not far beyond. The half-mile one-hour tour traces his life taking in his baptism in the Old Kirk, schooling in Hill Street, life on the High Street and will include a venture into his wonderful walled garden.
