About the event
This September, the Adam Smith Heritage Centre invites you to discover the remarkable literary journey of Tom Hubbard - poet, writer, scholar, librarian and traveller, born in Kirkcaldy.
Invitation to the Voyage: Crossing Oceans to Be Home explores Tom’s lifelong relationship with literature, language, place and travel. Through his poems, books, photographs and personal history, the exhibition follows his journey from Fife across Scotland, Europe, America and Ireland and ultimately back home.
From his years as Librarian of the Scottish Poetry Library to his work as a poet, novelist, translator and literary scholar, Tom Hubbard’s work crosses borders, languages and cultures while maintaining a strong connection to Fife and Scotland.
Come and explore the books, poems and places that have shaped Tom Hubbard’s work and follow a journey that asks:
