About the event
Adam's Garden drawing workshop for families (Free with £10 suggested donation per family)
You can be drawing and creating art in the actual walled garden where Adam Smith would wander while writing The Wealth of Nations. This private garden is hidden behind high walls between the High Street and the Esplanade in Kirkcaldy.
Imagine Kirkcaldy with horses clopping through the streets, street sellers calling and church bells ringing.
Imagine men and women in cloaks, in shawls, in britches and bonnets while the harbour bristles with the masts of tall ships.
Imagine what Adam Smith would have seen when he stepped out of the door of his High Street home!
We are going to take a deep dive into Kirkcaldy’s past and DRAW ourselves into the world of Adam Smith – in the very garden where he would have wandered!
Most materials will be provided but if you want you can bring your own drawing tools, materials and particularly scissors so that families each have their own set. A wet weather alternative venue will be made available if required.
Tickets are for a family with a minimum donation of £10 per small family group recommended.
